SOUND MONTAGE: SOUVENIR
Once again, students will work with a partner. Each student will interview his or her partner, getting him/her to describe in detail a place from his/her youth that elicited a powerful emotional response (fear, warmth, intrigue). What are the sounds he/she associates with that place? The interviewer then uses this information as the basis for an “audio postcard.”
The sound design should feature some voice-over from the interview that provides context for the project, but at least half of the project’s running time should be free of narration. The total running time of this project should be between one and two minutes. Students should output their projects as .wav files and upload them to their websites (Soundcloud or some other audio sharing site is a good way to embed audio clips on websites).
